Why Am I Feeling This Way?
This question lies at the heart of what we’ll explore together. We begin not with labels or treatment plans, but with conversation — grounded in curiosity, compassion, and care. Our work isn’t formulaic. It’s relational, experiential, and tuned to your unique story and journey.
Psychodynamic counseling may be especially helpful if you:
• Have tried solution-focused approaches but still feel something is missing.
• Sense past experiences are influencing your present in subtle ways.
• Long for clarity around repeating patterns.
• Are navigating life transitions and feeling uncertain or stuck.
• Want more than symptom relief — you yearn for deeper, lasting transformation.
What is Individual Therapy?
Individual therapy is a one-on-one space for personalized, confidential, and professional mental health support. It involves slowing down and listening inward, while being compassionately guided through the process of understanding your emotional needs and how unconscious patterns may be keeping you stuck.
Whether you’re moving through grief, experiencing depression or anxiety, or simply feeling disconnected from your sense of self, individual therapy creates space for deep exploration, self-reflection, and healing. Genuine connection becomes the anchor that allows deeper work to unfold. Together, we’ll make sense of your story and begin the process of reclaiming your most authentic self. Together, we’ll make sense of your story and begin the process of reclaiming your most authentic self.
How Individual Relational Therapy Works
Relational therapy is about more than just talking through problems — it’s about experiencing healing in the context of a safe, supportive relationship. In our work together, the therapeutic relationship becomes a space where old patterns can show up and be understood in real time.
Instead of focusing only on symptoms, we’ll explore how your past experiences and relationships may shape the way you see yourself and others today. By bringing these dynamics into awareness, you can begin to untangle what no longer serves you and open the door to new ways of relating — both to yourself and the people in your life.
This process is collaborative and unique to you. As we reflect together, the patterns that once felt automatic or invisible can shift, allowing for more freedom, authenticity, and choice in how you move forward.
Who is Individual Therapy For?
Individual therapy is for anyone who wants more than just a quick fix. Many clients seek therapy during seasons of transition — navigating loss, relationship changes, career shifts, or a sense of restlessness. Others seek therapy when they feel weighed down by anxiety, grief, or patterns they can’t seem to break on their own. Our work together will draw from:
You may find this work especially helpful if you:
- Feel stuck or dissatisfied, even though life looks “fine” on the outside
- Struggle with burnout, stress, or ambivalence about next steps
- Notice the same patterns showing up in relationships or decisions
- Are curious about the deeper meaning behind your feelings and symptoms
- Long for a more authentic and fulfilling way of living
Therapy is a place to pause, reflect, and grow. Whether you’re in the middle of a major life change or simply sensing there’s “something more,” individual therapy can help you understand yourself more fully and move toward the life you want to create.

How I Work
My approach is psychodynamic, relational, and collaborative. Therapy is about looking beneath the surface to understand the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that shape how you feel and relate today.
In our sessions, we’ll notice not only what’s happening in your life, but also what emerges between us in the room. These moments give us a unique window into the deeper layers of your experience.
Together, we’ll reflect, connect the dots, and bring hidden patterns into awareness. As these unconscious dynamics come to light, you’ll begin to feel more choice, freedom, and authenticity in how you live and relate to others. My work draws from the following approaches.
- Trauma-informed therapy principles
- Attachment-based therapy
- Transference-focused psychotherapy
- Inner-conflict mediation
- Humanistic therapy
- Existential therapy
- Psychoeducation
- Mindfulness and emotional regulation
What to Expect in a Therapy Session
Each session is 45 minutes and provides a confidential space where you don’t need to prepare or perform — simply come as you are. We’ll begin with what feels most present for you, whether that’s a recent challenge, a recurring pattern, or feelings you can’t quite name.
Sometimes we’ll explore your history and relationships; other times, we’ll reflect on what arises between us in the room. Both offer valuable insight into the deeper layers of your experience.
Over time, this process helps you understand yourself more fully, create new choices where you once felt stuck, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and free.
I offer sessions both in-person in Pasadena and securely online for clients across California.
